For joiners, glaziers, and skilled trade businesses
<aside> 👋
Flappie is a cat flap with a camera that detects whether a cat is carrying a mouse in its mouth. If it is, the flap stays closed and the mouse stays outside. Thousands of cat owners have already bought Flappie, and every device has to be installed in a door, wall, or pane of glass. Many customers do not feel confident doing this themselves and look for a professional. That is where you come in: as a Flappie partner, you earn from advice and installation and, if you wish, from selling the device too. The training is free, and apart from about two hours of your time, the programme costs you nothing.

In five minutes, you will know what the programme offers, how you can earn from it, and how to get started.
Flappie is a cat flap with a built-in camera and artificial intelligence. Before the cat comes inside, the device looks at it: if the cat is carrying prey in its mouth, the flap stays locked. The customer no longer has to collect a mouse from the living room. The cat does not need a chip or collar, because detection happens entirely inside the device.
Other smart cat flaps read a microchip or collar and then simply open. They cannot see what the cat is carrying. Flappie really looks, and that is the difference customers cannot get anywhere else.
Cat ID is being tested as an experimental feature in Flappie Labs. The aim is for the device to recognise not only prey but also which cat is in front of the flap. A broader rollout is expected from September 2026, but we do not promise a fixed date. Cat ID is intended as a free update for all existing devices, with no new hardware required. This is a strong point in customer conversations: the device a customer buys today will improve over time. Important: the area is called Flappie Labs, never “Cat ID Labs”.
Customers buy Flappie for CHF 449 or, in the EU, EUR 479 from our online shop and control it through an app. Thousands of devices are already in use with customers in Switzerland, Europe, and the United Kingdom, with more being added all the time. Prey detection is currently measured at 98% and continues to improve; this is a measured rate, not a guarantee. When a customer buys directly from Flappie, Flappie handles the product case. If you sell as a reseller, you are the contractual seller and the customer’s first point of contact for statutory product rights, and you coordinate product defects with Flappie. Software updates are provided for at least five years.
Installation is the biggest hurdle for many customers. Joiners and glaziers regularly tell us that customers come into their shops asking about installing Flappie. The demand already exists. What has been missing is a programme that brings businesses and customers together. That is what we are building now, and the first partners benefit most.
To help you plan properly, we want to be clear from the start: we do not promise a number of jobs and we do not assign jobs. The customer always chooses whom to contact. What we do is make you visible and give you the knowledge to turn each enquiry into solid business. Customers reach you in three ways:
You prepare the installation quote yourself and invoice the customer directly. We do not invoice you for it: there is no commission, no fee, and no minimum turnover.
Installation is standard work for your business. You need a jigsaw, drill, Phillips screwdriver, and ruler. The device consists of two halves that are screwed together from both sides through the door, wall, or glass. Cutting the opening takes the same effort as for any other cat flap. Fitting the device then takes five to fifteen minutes. Allow an additional 20 minutes for the function test, account, Wi-Fi, and app setup with the customer; pairing alone is only one part of this.
The training teaches you a six-question check so you can quote with confidence: substrate, existing opening, material thickness, nearby power socket, space around the flap, and the size of the cat. Before quoting, you will know exactly which materials are required and can offer a fixed price without miscalculating.
